Dry Belts

Most dry timing belts are recommended for replacement around 75,000 miles, but we’re seeing many needing attention closer to 60,000 miles due to accelerated wear.

Wet Belts

Wet belts aren’t the best design, but they’re manageable with proper care. If your vehicle has a wet belt and there’s no record of replacement, we recommend having it done.

We’ve replaced countless wet belts — some failing as early as 19,000 miles. Because the belt sits inside the engine and is constantly soaked in oil, the rubber deteriorates over time. These particles collect in the sump, clog the oil pick‑up, and restrict oil flow. That means your engine is essentially running with little to no lubrication, which inevitably leads to a blown engine.
